My sister is searching for her birth mother and we really don't have much information to begin a search. Her birth name was Melissa Ann and she was born Febrruary 29, 1968 in New Jersey. We know that her birth mom stay at The Door of Hope in Jersey City, but until last night everyone was under the impression that she was born there but only just realized that The Door of Hope was just a place where mother stayed when they were pregnant and probably for a bit of time after they gave birth. All of my sister's adoption papers and even her original birth certificate were stolen when our house was robbed many many years ago. We know that her birth mother was around 18-19 years old and believe that she was conceived when her mother was on a bon voyage party on a cruise to a steward on the ship. And we believe that the birth mother's last name was something along the lines of "Hanakee" (not sure of the spelling). Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!
