Our worker submitted our homestudy for a 2 year old boy a few weeks ago, and we found out yesterday that we were selected! His parents' rights have already been terminated, so this is a pre-adoptive placement. We are going to meet him on Friday to see if he's a fit for our family -- and then if all goes well, he would move in with us in a week or so. We're excited to meet him! We wanted to adopt one more little boy, so we are thrilled. After our FFS went home in February (due to a CPS procedural mistake), we were really down on the system. Hopefully this is a good match for us.

That is such exciting news!!! Congrats! I hope he's all you dreamed of (and more!)
So, you'll have 3 two-year olds and 1 three year old?
Thanks everyone! We'll see how it goes!

Yes! :woohoo: Last year we had four 1 year olds (who were all within 3 months of each other) plus a 2 year old for seven months. So we are used to having a bunch the same age.

Our agency called us a couple weeks ago and told us about the child, asked if we wanted to submit our homestudy. We said yes, then the child's caseworker selected us from all the homestudies that were submitted. The matching process was the same for our three now-adopted kids as well -- except in those three cases, the children's parents' rights weren't terminated yet -- they were all low legal risk situations. This new little boy is one of the few we've been presented on that was already past TPR.

Well we met him today and he was absolutely wonderful. We are hoping he can come for the overnight pre-placement visit early next week!
