Fastest way to adopt a newborn

I'll be honest, we are a bit younger than you and were open to all ethnicities and minor special needs and it took 3 years from start to placement. My feeling is that you would probably experience a similar thing but I am not entirely sure why your age means the process has to be so quick; surely a couple more years won't really matter?
