Step parent adoption in TX

My Fiance and I are getting married in June and I want to adopt her daughter. We have been togeather for six years. I have been in her life since she was 7yrs old. I do already concider her mine. I just want her to be legaly mine. I have no idea what to do. We live in Houston, TX and would apriciate all the help you all can give me. I would like to get this done before the wedding so I can show her that she is legaly mine at the wedding.

Hal - does the birthfather have parental rights? If so, he might not consent. I was adopted by my step-father at age 13 when I could "legally" choose to not visit my bio-father and he could quit paying child support by terminating his rights. It was done through an adoption attorney.
