I got married here in Korea. My wife is Korean and has a son from a previous marriage. Korean adoption doesn't follow the Hague conventions so adoption is fairly straight forward as it's been streamlined by their fairly efficient bureaucracy.
So with consent of the father I am able to adopt. My wife has all the papers filled out. The Korean government wants a notarized affidavit of intent to adopt. They haven't been to clear on what this is. This should be the final hurdle to getting my adoption here in Korea. Anybody do something similar? Any advice on what the affidavit of intent to adopt is or what it contains? I'm going to the US consulate in Korea to sign and Notarize it very soon.
:thanks:
