RETRACTION
Veromi.net has changed the format it displays on its website, and we may have lost a useful method of finding someone of unknown surname whose date of birth we know. Veromi no longer displays a date-of-birth field to be entered by the customer.
I published a book in January 2013 which contains the following text on page 44 of volume 1.
"Problems occurred when [female drivers] married and changed their surnames. Now there are companies that compile their own databases from official motor vehicle records and sell the information on the Internet. You can just Google the desired name or go to Veromi: Veromi.net | People Search.
"The format used by Veromi allows you to input the person's date of birth (but doesn't require it)--if you do, you might possibly find the person sought without knowing the surname!--if the first name is not too common. If there are too many hits to display more than the first 100, the search can be limited to one state at a time."
Veromi did not reply to a strongly-worded e-mail I sent after I discovered the change in the format.
