Please join us for FREE monthly meetings for pre- and post-adoptive families. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of any month at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Westport/Weston, located on Route 57, just 1/4 mile north of Merritt Parkway Exit 42. The meetings are run by the Adoptive Parents Committee, Inc. ([url]http://www.adoptiveparents.org)[/url]. All meetings include a general roundtable discussion (at which you can raise ANY adoption-related question or topic) after our primary topic for the evening. Dates and topics are: October 1 - Ages and Stages of Children's Understanding of Adoption November 5 - Surviving the Holidays while You Wait to Adopt plus bonus session on planning your conference day December 3 - Creating Rituals in the Adoptive Family January 7 - Children's Books and Stories of Adoption February 4 - Creating a Parenting Partnership (How to Help Your Marriage Survive Children!) March 4 - Facilitating Attachment in Adoptive Families April 1 - Children in the Age of Technology May 6 - Communicating with Birthparents Before and After Adoption June 3 - TBA July 1 and August 5 - Action Plans
