Please join Adoptive Families of Houston to hear Janie Cravens, L.C.S.W., speak about and discuss "How to Talk to Your Kids about Adoption." Do you wonder how to bring up the subject of adoption with your child? Are you unsure what words or language to use? Janie will answer these and many other questions to help equip you with the tools you need to increase your comfort level in discussing adoption with your child.
Janie Cravens is an LCSW with more than 35 years of experience in adoption, infertility, orphan care, attachment and birth parent concerns. She is a pioneer of open adoption. Janie resides in Austin where she owns a consulting company, Adoption Development Resources, offering pre and post-placement counseling/consultation for members of the triad, educational workshops on all topics for domestic and international adoptions, home studies, expert testimony for legal cases, and consultation to agencies and orphanages around the world.
Janie's presentations are interactive, fun and informal with ample time for Q&A throughout the evening. We hope you can join us, and we encourage you to invite extended family members since this is a great opportunity for adoption education.
Continuing Education Units approved by the Texas State Board of Social Workers Examiners will be available to interested attendees.
