Our new Little Miss is pretty much certainly half Hispanic (bmom is CC). I've been looking up good books for little girls, not too princessy! The website A Mighty Girl is very good and has some recommendations for books with heroines who are "brown" but it's mainly AA girls who are featured. Has anyone got any good stories with Hispanic girl characters? Some of the ones on the theme of "we don't all look the same" are likely to be helpful too I know. I'll always remember my cousin (CC but brunette/brown eyes) getting annoyed when we were teens, that all the angels in the picture books were blonde - she found some pictures of Ethiopian angels though - we thought they were cool!
