Have you applied to get your original birth certificate which will have her name at the time? I believe adoptees born before July 1974 can get it at the division of vital records (my dh did). Good luck!
My original birth certificate came today! I know her name and was hoping it would as simple as finding her on Facebook. She's not there.. I was hoping maybe she'd be looking for me here and now that I know where she lived and where I was born, I figured I'd try this route.

Afed- Any luck?It's a little tricky especially with women taking married names later in life. I was able to find my mothers parents and through further research found her on a legal document that was publicly available.
