I am helping my Mother find her birth parents / any birth family that may be living.
She was adopted in Vancouver, WA born March 1, 1955 (3/1/55) in a private adoption. It is likely that she was born in Portland, Oregon (Vancouver is a suburb in Washington State).
The adoption was completed by a lawyer who was possibly working with a DSHS worker named Mary Sample...? She was a friend of my Mom's adoptive parents Mary Ellen Burco (Philip Burco).
The names on the papers have the birth father as Donald Hunt and birth mother as Joann Hunt... potentially an illegitimate child of Joann's but not Donald's? We are not sure of that however "illegitimate" could have just been used in place of them not being married at the time of conception.
Anyone out there with ANY information?
Thanks,
Sarah
What state is your mothers birth certificate issued in, i.e. where she was born? Washington or Oregon?
It doesn't matter which state - both changed the laws back to what they used to be so she can get her original birth certificate and any other identifying info they have in the files.
Start there and see if that gives you more clues...it will also show if she was born illegitimate or not.

Once you get that and need further help - let me know.

Thank you for the info, sorry it took me so long to respond!
She has the original birth certificate and a legal document with their names but no other additional information, so I'll go to the link and see what else we can find!!
Thanks again!
