Hi Everyone,
My husband & I live in san bernardino county (california).
we are in the process of adopting through the county.
We are still working on our homestudy.
I had a question- I am wondering When you get a call regarding a child
how long does it take for the whole adoption process to be finalized?
Does it take years or months?
If I could get some sort of idea that would be great.
Also, for people who adopted through the county-
How long did it take for you to get a call regarding an available child?
I guess it depends on how flexible you are regarding age, gender, ect.?
Thanks

My husband and I have adopted 2 boys through the county. In one case it was about 15 months and the other was about 11 months. It really just depends on the case. As far as getting the initial call for a child , we have our placement for a girl from 0-2 and we have been waiting for over a year. Hopefully you get a call soon!
It truly depends on the case. Even safe surrenders can take 11mo. We are currently looking @ 28mo and 24mo before we finalize.
