Thread: REUNION
I am a birth mom who has been in reunion with my son for 10 years. I think your fears are very normal. The first time I met my son in person after reunion, he couldn't get out of his car for several minutes after he arrived at my house. He was scared to take that next step. (He finally did.) I'm not sure I have followed your story completely, but I suspect that your mother does indeed still think of you even though you have been unable to actually talk to her. Can you write to your birth mom and explain some of your fears? I was always afraid that my son was dead; it was a relief just to know he was alive. I personally entered reunion with no expectations. I love him now as I loved him when he was born and I feel privileged to be allowed in his life now. Every reunion is different and some move faster than others. I hope you will be able to connect with your birthmom. Think of it as a work in progress.
Blessings,
Kathy
