Hello,
I am trying to get notarized for name change back to birth name.
I am in Montgomery county in tn, does it has to be in same county for notarized? or is it okay if i get any other counties in Tn?
Thank you.

Doing a legal name change generally involves more than notarization. Be sure that you know what your state requires. You will usually have to fill out a petition at the courthouse, indicating the reason for the name change and attesting to the fact that you are not doing it either to evade creditors or for other criminal reasons. A judge will then have to approve the petition. You generally don't need an attorney, but there may be some minor fees.

THanks for answering.
I already wrote the petition and got a notarized signature. but it was in different county in TN, so i just wondered that should i get notarized sign in same county from the court or not.
The best place to get answers is your local courthouse where the name change petition will be filed. The workers can't give legal advice, but they can certainly instruct you on how to correctly fill out the necessary forms.
