I can say that when we started adoption process, we did not think we wanted an open adoption. BUT THEN, the further we got along the journey and the more we educated ourselves, the more we uncovered how immensely important it would be for our future children. fast forward to today. our adoption is semi open / open and i am so thankful. it is messy and imperfect, but i am so thankful for our son's birth mom. i hope he feels loved that we are doing all we can to foster that relationship for him. my hope is to serve him well.
