I've heard a lot of talk about the "cocooning" method right after you adopt, but I'm not sure what that means. Can anyone clarify this for me?

I know you posted this last year and probably found the info by now but "cocooning" as far as my understanding is (essentially) when either (or both) occur: A) you do not have much interaction with anyone outside of the home in the first few months (or however is needed) in order to form a bond with your adopted child, build trust of care, and establish/identify immediate "family" for the child. B) when you DO interact with others, asking others to always direct the child's needs and general affection to the parents and no one else. Which is easy in theory but much harder in reality, especially when you think about ALL interactions with friends, neighbors, and especially extended family. : :
