What are your thoughts on single parent adoption? Can a single parent provide all the benefits a child would have were they adopted by a couple? What are the pros and cons?

As a single parent, I'll be honest: while there's no one to contradict you regarding parenting, disciplining, etc., it would be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of; someone who could take over once in a while; and as a mom to boys, yes they need a male in their lives. Mine had Big Brothers. all were ok but the youngest who decided he didn't want one a few years ago but needs one now.
I think that at times it will be hard, but so is having a partner. If you have the will and the proper means, I think single adoption can be a beautiful thing. I completely agree with Millie about children still needing the proper role models and mirrors in their lives.
