Family preservation

I'm trying to form an opinion on whether I am truly pro-adoption or not. I know adoption was the right choice for me personally. I was too young to care for her, I could hardly take care of myself. But a lot of birth mothers place because they don't have the financial means to parent their child. I think that's wrong, and I'm not in favor of people placing because they want their child to have a higher socioeconomic status. So where's the line there?

That's a tough question. In foster care, there was a point where they were trying family preservation. I'm guessing in some instances, that does work; but not all. Some parents are downright mean. However, finances should not be the only reason.
