I'm looking for ways to keep my highly energetic toddler busy in a waiting room. Both of my in-laws are having surgery in the coming weeks. I would like to be at the hospital to show my support, but usually I keep him home from situations like that because he acts so crazy. He runs, climbs and squeals almost everywhere we go. I know he will outgrow it like our other son did, but I need a temporary fix. What are some things you have used in the past to keep your kid's attention in a boring setting?

I mostly have my sister or my elder daughter look after my baby girl at home in situations like these and if no one is available to baby sit her i take her with me and usually sit her down and play one of those learning videos for kids to keep her entertained and to keep her away from getting her into everything. It works for me like a charm!
