We have a pregnancy center in my town. They are suppose to help young mothers out with things like maternity clothes, car seats, etc. Honestly, I went there with my last pregnancy and didn't stay because the place gave me the creeps.
I was reminded of that place today. It struck me as odd that they didn't allow the fathers to the first visit at all. This is isn't a drs office. Just a questionnaire and intake interview. They made it clear that they need to speak with me alone.
That made me wonder. How to adoption agencies do it? Do they want to speak to the birth mother alone or do they need to see both parents upfront? How does that work?

It really depends on who you go to. A reason for this is that many times mothers who need the resources are having issues with the father. They need to make sure these women are safe.
