Good day all - we are considering the positives and negatives of varying degrees of openness to the birth mother. I'm very interested in hearing from someone who has adoption of children and has 10-15 years of experience on what the impact is to the children. Birth mom is pretty unstable and has a history of incarceration and drug use. Dad's are out of the picture. thanks for any experiences you can share.

Not seeing how old your kids are.. but if you can, you keep her contact info. Your kids may want to see her or they may not. My oldest saw his bio mom for a while and now doesn't talk to her. My youngest (different bios) has a need to see his bio mom. You keep the info; if the kids ask you can give it to them.
