Hello,
I am an adoption recruitment specialist. My goal is to work with youth in DCS care to match them with ideal adoptive families. I have recently matched a sibling group of three with a family. After DCS approved and made an offer to the family, which the family accepted, we have a meet and greet scheduled for the children. The family and the children are very excited, but are also a bit nervous. The sibling group includes one baby, one pre-teen, and one teenager. We want to find a way to introduce everyone in a setting that the children are most comfortable with. One idea is hosting the meet and greet at a pizza arcade, but I understand that sometimes the whole process of sitting at a table in a large group can be a bit awkward and uncomfortable. What other options are there? Additionally, are there any games that you all can think of that serve as a good way of getting to know each other? As a side note, outdoor activities are not possible because it is too hot outside this time of the year (we live in the desert).
Thank you!
a park with grills. It's outside; you can bring a volleyball, badminton set, or whatever. Good luck!
