I started my birth parent search about six months ago through a Reunion Registry. They found and spoke to my birth mother who sent me a letter telling me that the past was best left in the past.
Against my birth mother's wishes, I initiated another search for my birth father who responded to them almost immediately (this past Friday afternoon). He told them that he had often thought about searching for me and had actually had a DNA test last year. I am told that he was excited and that he definitely wants to establish contact with me.
At this point, we are waiting for him to return the Consent to Contact forms and then the Reunion Registry will schedule a conference call for us. This could be as early as this upcoming week and I just realized that I am totally unprepared for this.
Looking for advice on the To do's and not to do's. Any help is definitely appreciated.
