Adoptive parents - how did you afford to adopt?

Hello everyone,,,My Wife and I don't have a huge income (under 100k, live in California Bay Area).How were you able to afford lawyers, adoption fees etc?my wife and I want to Foster first, and we have already signed up, attended classes and are waiting for the inspection. I was just curious about how others were able to adopt. We were looking at Angel adoptions- a program that costs about 15 - 30k and will match an expectant mother to a family. Anyone heard of this?
