Should gender preference in adoption and fostering be considered wrong and unethical?

I believe it's immoral, and I beleive that it should not be tolerated in the foster/adopt community, yet I know that most people don't see their preference as anything close to wrong, so it's complicated.

The very opposite is my view, that it is not ethical to exercise no conditions for adoption, conditions including gender, for the better the match the better the experience for all concerned. To this end the more conditions the better, individuals should be matched!
