I am adopting my stepson that I've raised for 8 years in October. He will also be turning 9 years old soon. I am in the last leg of the 30 days after the bio parent has received noticed that special proceedings for his adoption are taking place. I've given the reference letters to the clerk, and I have completed the background check along with the petition. I still need to write a letter to waive consent and parental rights due to him not answering phone calls and never being in my son's life . I also have to write about why the adoption is the best thing for my son. Is it bad if the documents both sound the same ? I believe they go hand in hand. Can someone provide examples to help me stay on topic?
