I have a particularly unique case and hope to meet someone who has seen similar. I met my girlfriend then and wife now while she was working in my country in Africa. She was in the middle of an adoption process while resident in my country. We were patient through the long process and lil boy ( adopted from another African country) now has a new home with us and formally an America citizen via her adoptive mother (my wife). I am the only father he has ever known and we are planning to break the news to him in the next year. Technically, I am not his father and I will like to formalise that by adopting him too. The complication is that both my wife and my “son” are US citizens currently residing with me in my home country in Africa. I am neither a green-card holder citizen of the US. I only go there on vacations with them on visitor visas to visit my wife’s family. How do I go about this process under my circumstance?.
