My wife and I took our first Foster class last night a local agency. They said that, other than sibling groups, they do not place Level 1 kids through their agency. They had us complete a form stating, among other things, what issues we would not be able to handle as part of a foster placement. We have a grade schooler with relatively signficant intellecutal disabilities, and we don't want our effort to help kids through fostering to inadvertantly hurt our son. So we told the agency via the form that our "can't do list" includes taking a child with agressive, bullying violent and/or sexual deviant behaviors. Would those kinds of limitations make Level 2 kids and that particular agency a bad fit for our family? The agency did not clearly explain what is the difference between level 1 and 2, 3, etc. foster kids.
