When I was a stupid teenager I got into an argument with my mom. She was at her wits' end as a single mother. I had just run away from home and was very stubborn and disrespectful. The argument escalated and I ended up throwing a cup of water on her and was arrested for either battery or domestic violence (not sure exactly).
Since then I’ve taught English for 2 years overseas to children in developing countries, volunteered at numerous children’s organizations, and even worked with special needs children under a licensed psychologist. I’m married now, own my own business, and am an active member of my community. It’s safe to say that I have absolutely changed from the idiot teenager I once was.
Will my juvenile past disqualify me from becoming a foster/adoptive mom?
