Hello. Does anyone know if there is anyway to confirm an adoption in Canada in the early 1900s?
I have been working on my tree off and on and recently learned that my great grandmother was adopted.
Regardless, she is my great grandmother and since my family has a lot of adoptions/ half siblings and step parents I have a tree that is family/family regardless of blood/dna.
I also have a tree that is my documented lineage and I will now do either 23&me or Ancestry to figure out if there are any surprises.
I’m assuming there might not be any recordings if she was adopted through family or if it was a unknown biological parents adoption.
Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Library and Archives Canada does not hold adoption records because adoptions fall within the jurisdiction of provincial authorities. Access to those records is restricted to protect the confidentiality of the information they contain
