Hi! I was wondering if anyone has gone through the process of changing their name back to their birth name? I'm a Russian American adoptee living in NY and I desperately want to get rid of the name that my abusive adoptive parents gave me. I'm planning on getting my russian passport updated since I found our that I'm still legally a citizen & it makes the most sense to change my name before getting the the new passport. If anyone has any advice or knows how I'd legally go about doing this, I'd appreciate it so much. Thank you!
