Its wise to be aware that several types of scams are on ALL adoption message boards on the internet:
Many people have been scammed by someone pretending to be the relinquished child or birthmother. Click on this link for more information: http://forums.adoption.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=98290. These scammers change their user names and email addresses frequently so be aware of any suspicious contact ҅especially on a Private Message option.
Post as little information as possible on a public message board. Recommended information is date of birth, gender and city and state of birth. Keep the rest of the information to yourself so that when someone contacts you that you will have private information to compare to see if it is a true match.

I apologize but i did not read everything. I just saw LDS Records. My son Scott was adopted. Born in late October early November between Halloween and the 4th of November in the year 1990-91. I was forced. The agency was LDS in Salt Lake City, Utah. They said they would not give me the financial assistance (welfare) check for my other two sons if I did not sign the adoption papers. I had 90 days to sign they said. The father of my two sons said that if I kept Scott, he would take my other two sons away from me. I was frightened and wish I had just trusted in God and not listen to them. I signed the papers on the 90th day. I was told that it would be a closed adoption and that I could write a letter to him. The adoptive parents sent letters and pictures to my grandmothers address but they did not tell me until much later and then they would not give me the pictures or letters. I finally found one while visiting them and kept it. Well, the father of the other two sons found it and tore it up. So I have nothing.
I do not want to cause Scott or his adoptive parents any harm. I would greatly appreciate pictures and letters if they would not mind. They may think that I did not want to respond. So maybe that is why they stopped writing. They do not know what happened to the pictures and letters they were kind enough to send. I do not blame them as much as i blame myself for being so naive and allowing myself to be bullied by the state of Utah and the father of my to sons.
I contacted the Mayor's office and one woman kept sending me emails from that office saying that she could not open the files for medical or any other reason. She even phoned me once to tell me that again and to say she would send a paper that I could sign and send $25.00 to put my name on the Utah registry for when Scott became of age. I have signed quite a few registries and did not do what she asked. If the agency would just ask the adoptive parents if they were willing to send pics. and letters again or not. Explain to them how I had not gotten the letters and pics, the adoptive parents may just want to keep up the communication, they themselves had initiated. I do not know. The pain is still like the very first time I signed those papers.
Thanks for your time and consideration. I feel I have said to much already.
God Bless You!
C-Marie
