If any partial payment as a deposit is requested to begin the search, it must be returned upon demand if you decide that the search is not progressing within a reasonable time period (3-6 months). Do not pay for the search in full before the search starts. …make sure that the firm’s definition of “find” is not a LIST of people with a similar name and/or comparable age. Hi thesearchguru, I read your post and wanted to make a few brief comments re PA adoptions.I was born and adopted in PA. The records in PA have been sealed until around 2010. After that time information put out by the state allowed adoptees to see their adoption records, altho, they could not be photographed.It seems that the state has gone to a new system whereby they have an administrative organization that oversees activities of the adoption court rather than having a judge follow thru with every detail. Once information is collected on each case, it is referred to the judge for a ruling.I had no legal documentation as to my adoption. Under the new court guidelines, by petitioning the court I was able to get an Adoption Decree.It seems that the law in PA has not been overturned, but it may have been amended, or at least is less restrictive.I filled out the court ordered paperwork, had it notarized, presented a drivers license with $10, and the Adoption Decree came almost immediately.Im guessing, but what appears on the I-net is that the state is still working on the adoption law.I wish you the best.
