Foster Children Are Not Bad Children

Denalee Chapman February 04, 2015

A great misconception is that foster children are bad children. Some may believe that foster children have done something that caused them to be foster children. But nothing is further from the truth. Foster children have done nothing to deserve that fate.

In this video, foster parents share their very positive experiences of becoming foster parents. They also share some of the challenges. Once past the “honeymoon period” some of the kids may begin testing their foster parents — acting out, seeing how committed the parent is, etc. And then the real growth begins. Parents and children grow together.

“I’m the lucky one,” a statement made by a single foster father.
