“Those notes used to be screams,” said Philip’s foster father of his incredible singing.” This was the morning that international opera star, Philip Rhodes, was preparing for a special fund raising show to benefit foster children.

At age 10, Philip and his five little sisters were taken from their abusive home. Enter Pam and Henare O’Keefe. “I just felt sorry for them,” she said. “I already knew their history.”

The O’Keefe family has fostered over 200 children and are continuing their good work even now. But more impressive than the numbers is the deep love the O’Keefes have for each of the children who enter their home.

“Perhaps foster parents are the greatest unsung heroes in any country,” stated the co-host on Seven Sharp.
