When I was expecting and planning to place, many of the other girls in my support group shared different ways of healing. Some wrote poems. Some danced. Some wrote journals, blogged, or made videos.

I knew that I wanted to share my story with the world, and so I began to sing. I found so many adoption songs that spoke to me and helped me feel peace, but above them all I connected with the Michael McLean song, “From God’s Arms to My Arms to Yours”. I chose to use that song to tell my couple that I wanted them to be the parents of my little boy, and I wanted it to be in my own voice so that it was more personal. After I sent the announcement to them, I made my first video (which was incredibly healing!) and featured my recording of the song. To this day, whenever I hear “From God’s Arms to My Arms to Yours”, I cry happy tears.
