10-year-old China-born Alena was adopted by a couple in the United States when she was just 10 months old. She is petitioning the Massachusetts government to pass a resolution asking Congress to ensure equality for the adopted children of America. You see, Alena wants to become the President of the United States. Current laws prevent that from even being a possibility. One stipulation is that the President has to have been born in the U.S. “I don’t really remember China . . .  All I know is America. We should all have the opportunity to run for president. I am an American as much as you are,” says Alena. The law needs to take into account international adoptees, says Alena.
