ADOPTION IN

Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast

Prospective adoptive parent(s) must establish residency in Côte d’Ivoire and comply with a mandatory home study and six-month integration period. However, prospective parents from foreign countries may explain circumstances preventing them from establishing a temporary residency abroad and should submit proof that they visit the child regularly and provide for his/her care. Couples must be at least 30 years old and be 15 years older than the adoptive child and married for a minimum of 5 years. In 2011, two adoptions were finalized.
