There are currently nearly 300 children in Mesa County, Colorado who are in need of foster care families. 35 of those children are ready for adoption, according to the Department of Human Services. The department is joining forces with Fostering Hope to attract individuals and couples who have a desire to help children, particularly those who are victims of abuse. For those who are unsure if they are ready to be foster parents, which is a 24/7 role, becoming a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) may be the way to step in and make a difference.
