According to the National Adoption Center, the Philadelphia Wednesday’s Child program is part of a public-private partnership between NBC10 and the Adoption Center. Waiting child features air Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and repeat Saturdays and Sundays between 9 and 9:30 a.m. The interviews can be seen by clicking on Wednesday’s Child.

The National Adoption Center offers many services to those we serve. Information is available for families who wish to adopt, those who have been adopted, and professionals who work in adoption.

The children featured are older children, often teenagers, who are waiting for a family and may be siblings trying to stay together. The children may experience emotional issues resulting from abuse or neglect in their past. Some kids may have physical or developmental challenges. They all deserve loving, permanent homes. Photolistings are available on the website.
