Judy Thornton became pregnant when she was 16. About 50 years ago, “…if you were pregnant you went away,” she said. Judy placed her daughter for adoption. Forty years later, her son Jimmy helped as Judy began the search for her birth daughter.
Not knowing if her daughter would even want to meet her, she was overjoyed when a letter arrived. The two have been talking ever since. Living several states away from each other, their conversation had to be long distance. Until finally, just recently, Judy and Mary met in person. The local news station was on hand to capture those precious first few moments as the two reunited.
