Adoptive Arkansas mother, Jacqueline Ferguson, has been convicted of battery on her adopted child. She has been sentenced to six years in prison for beating one of her children with a vacuum cleaner attachment. Having first been a foster parent, she and her husband adopted three of the children.

It was during a visit with one of the Fergusons’ foster children that DHS learned that abuse was taking place in the home. Although Ferguson has only been charged with the beating of one adopted child, it is suspected that all of the children have been abused.

Biological mother of the adopted child that Ferguson has been convicted of beating is outraged.

Ferguson’s children are now in the care of a relative. Biological relatives are pushing the state to find a way to make sure such atrocities never happen again.
