“Is adoption for you? Or for her?” So asks a person of an adoptive mother. And that’s a question many of us ask ourselves as we are looking to grow our family through adoption. We’re providing a life of love for a child, yes – but are we doing it for the right reasons, and in the right way?
These and other questions are explored in the soon to be released movie, The Hanji Box. Divorced mother, Hannah, has just sold her house and is moving out. Her adopted daughter, Rose, comes to help her pack, but refuses to pack up her room. In the process of working things out, Rose’s hanji box from her native country of Korea gets broken. This leads to more than one discovery for both Rose and for Hannah.
