Kids are being relocated more than 50 miles away from their home communities in order to be placed into licensed foster homes after being removed from their home. This is especially tough on kids who have been experiencing lots of trauma in their young lives. The hope is that new parents will be recruited by “word of mouth” as current and past foster parents share the joys and rewards of their situations. There are some stigmas that accompany foster parenting, and many fears can be assuaged by talking with other foster parents. Although this crisis is in Northeast Mississippi, every state is in a constant need of new licensed, loving, safe foster homes.
