An Atlanta, Georgia organization is preparing to open a branch in Augusta, Georgia this year. Uniting Hope 4 Children sees there is great need in Augusta. The organization is holding several trainings over the next few months to help those interested in caring for foster children on their roads to become licensed. There are currently 11,000 children in foster care in Georgia. Some who hope to help with foster children, but don’t have the time or resources to be full-time foster parents, could qualify to become respite foster care givers. A respite foster parent offers relief for full-time foster parents for short periods of time, acting as grandparents or babysitters. There is great need in Georgia and all over the United States for loving, safe foster homes.
