Our birth-mother Rilla Stipe was born on November 20, 1922 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. In April 1941, when she was 19 years old she gave birth to a baby girl that she placed for adoption in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. There is a definite possibility that she gave birth to a baby prior to 1941. In 1942, she left Canada and entered into the United States illegally. From 1942 when she arrived in New York City she settled in an area called Hell's Kitchen which was then a predominantly Irish neighborhood. Because she was in the United States illegally she used alias names. There are two that we know of. They are Eileen Stewart and Ilene Seivers. It is believed she that she used others. We know that she lived with a man with the first name of Ray at 343 W42nd Street in NYC and that she might have been legally married to a man named Wilbur John Seivers. There is the possibility they weren't married and she just lived with him and used his last name. She gave birth to several babies between the years 1942 through 1957 in NYC. The is a possibility that some of these babies might have been bi-racial. She could have placed some of them for adoption through an agency, possibly NY Foundling Home in NYC. There is also the possibility that some of these babies might have been sold on the "Black Market" to a baby broker or directly to couples seeking to adopt without having to go through the legal adoption process. We know that she gave birth to a baby girl some time between 1950 through 1956 in NYC. The baby was born with red hair and brown eyes. We believe she was a few weeks old when she was given up for adoption. We know of a set of male twins born between 1950 to 1956. The birth mother called them Donny and Ronny but we don't know if those were their legal names. They were born with blondish red hair and brown eyes. We know she kept the twins until they were 8 months old or possibly older before she gave them up for adoption. I was born Female Seivers in January 1957 in Brooklyn, NY and placed through a pre-arranged private adoption when I was 3 days old. My birth mother did not see me at all. My adoption was finalized in October 1959 in Brooklyn, NY. Our birth-mother was caught by immigration and deported back to her native Hamilton, Ontario, Canada sometime after my birth in January 1957. In 1958, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada we know she gave birth to a baby boy she named Alfred Stipe. She placed him for adoption through Children's Aid Society in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
