Siblings Aldrik, Allura and Amber were born in June 2001, July 2002, and February 2006 respectively. The children are healthy and developmentally on target. They have been living in a foster family since February 2014.
Update June 2017: Aldrik now attends a professional school with the goal of becoming an electrician. He has adapted well to the school environment, has many friends, and understands the importance of education. Allura continues to attend classes regularly, enjoys participating in extracurricular activities, and shows competence in completing assignments both on her own and as part of a team. Amber completed 4th grade in the 2016/2017 school year and is described by her teachers as a responsible girl who adapts well to change and treats peers and adults with respect.
2016: Aldrik is an energetic, cheerful teen who shows purposeful attention, flexible, abstract and logical thinking, rich imagination, proper orientation in time and space as well as about himself, and well-developed emotional intelligence. He communicates easily with others and has many friends. He is responsible and disciplined, respecting authority, social norms, and rules. Aldrik enjoys sports, music, TV, social media, and time with peers as well as fishing and home repairs with his foster father.
Allura is an agile, joyful, well-behaved teen who demonstrates empathy and emotional intelligence. Her perceptions and sensory activity are complete, objective and rationalized. She can recognize, analyze, compare and make hypotheses and associations when having to solve specific situations. Allura interacts freely with others and shares her feelings and thoughts though she is still working on improving her conflict-resolution skills. She likes fashion, movies, being on the internet, and music.
Amber is an active, positive girl who shows a great interest in gaining new knowledge and skills which contributes to her fast rate of development. She perceives, processes, and reproduces new information quickly and willingly. Her thinking is flexible and logical and she has started comparing and analyzing objects, situations and functions as well as using analogy. Amber interacts freely with others and is most comfortable communicating with peers. She is popular among other children. Amber purposefully completes tasks assigned to her, is respectful, and obedient. She likes games, music, TV shows, and time with her friends.
All three children attend school regularly and cope well with the academic material. Their interest lies primarily in the humanities and in related extra-curricular activities where they show diligence and imagination.
The siblings are closely attached to one another and spend a lot of time together. They have a strong bond with their foster parents. Aldrik, Allura and Amber understand adoption and are considering this possibility with a calm and balanced attitude.
