- Case #Dustin
Dustin was born in April 2005. He is a very healthy, typically developing boy who has been diagnosed with a disorder in adaptation at school.
Dustin is typically calm and upbeat, interacts well with adults and peers, and has a positive attitude towards meeting new people. He maintains friendships and easily integrates into a peer group without attention-seeking or needing to take on a lead role. Dustins gross motor, fine motor, receptive and expressive language skills are well-developed. He speaks in sentences, asks appropriate questions, and is able to create a story from looking a picture. Dustin enjoys participating in group activities as well as playing on his own. He likes watching childrens shows on TV, outdoor games, and walks in nature.
A 5th grade student in the 2016/2017 school year, Dustin worked with a resource teacher under an individual education program due to academic gaps, difficulty focusing his attention, and poor self-motivation. He requires frequent support to complete assignments. Dustin manages his personal hygiene independently and is learning to take care of his personal belongings.
