Frances was born in October 2008. She has been diagnosed with significant developmental delays, epilepsy, and infantile cerebral palsy.
Frances walks and climbs stairs independently despite an unstable gait. She does not seek out interactions with others but can maintain eye contact and enjoys being spoken to and cuddling with adults. She loves music and responds by smiling and dancing. Frances does not seem to recognize her name nor understand what is being said to her. She vocalizes sounds similar to a ticking clock, communicates via gestures, and is nonverbal. Frances in constant motion, prefers to be alone, and has some stereotypical movements. She sleeps calmly and is fully dependent on her caregivers to meet her needs.
