Kaylyn was born in October 2014. She has been diagnosed with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy of the 2nd degree, symptomatic epilepsy, spastic cerebral palsy, and optic nerve atrophy. Her development is severely delayed.

Kaylyn shows constant chaotic, uncoordinated movements of her body. She can grasp toys for a short period of time. She cannot fixate on bright colors or follow moving objects with her eyes, and does not react to loud noises. At times she produces guttural sounds but does not communicate verbally or nonverbally. Kaylyn has a good suck and swallow reflex and is spoon fed by her caregivers. Kaylyn shows stable weight gain and sleeps calmly.
